Frequently ASKED WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY QUESTIONS
Wedding Photography Booking
There is a normally a 25% deposit to secure your date. Once the deposit is paid, the date is exclusively yours. The balance is due 4 weeks before the wedding date.
Consequently, I strongly recommend that all couples take out comprehensive wedding insurance to protect themselves from costs if they need to cancel.
I am very happy to travel for the pleasure of photographing your wedding! All travel costs are included within 100 miles of my home in Oxford. Any additional milage is charged at 45p per mile.
For events more than 1 1/2 hours normal driving from my home I may ask you to provide accommodation for the night before and night of the wedding depending on location and timings. I will agree all of these details with you in advance.
For weddings outside of the UK I will agree all of the details and costs with you as part of the booking process.
Absolutely! I know just how important this decision is and would love to hear about your plans!
I am delighted to have a no obligation phone or video call with you which will help make sure that we are right for each other.
Once you have paid the deposit and signed the agreement, it’s all official!
I will send you a pre-wedding checklist which helps me plan and keep organised. After that we will have a pre-wedding consultation to talk through all your plans. I am also here to support you and answer any questions that you have between then and your wedding day.
In addition, about 4 weeks before your wedding we’ll have a meeting by video call or in person. This is to run through the details. It helps me can work out the finer details and timings, and spot any complications. We’ll also work out the “must have” and family shots too.
Definitely! My three main packages are starting points and include the most popular elements, but there are plenty of things that we can add, like a second photographer for example.
If you are having a smaller celebration, and don’t need all day coverage I can do that for you too!
You can see my investment page for more details.
Your Wedding PhotoS
It’s completely up to you! I like engagement shoots because they are a good relaxed way for us to get to know each other.
Many couples have not been photographed professionally before, so Engagement Shoots can have some great advantages:
- We can get to know each other before the wedding day.
- Get comfortable in front of the camera in a relaxed environment
- Dress up, have fun and get some great pictures!
- Some great pictures of the two of you together to use for wedding invitations.
I don’t include an engagement shoot in my packages, but I do offer a 25% discount or refund on the engagement shoot fee for couples who book their wedding with me.
Your gallery will be ready within 4 to 6 weeks depending on the time of year. I will always send you a set of up to 10 sneak peek photos within 5 days so you can share the excitement on Social Media
I keep all the photos that I take on your wedding day and copies the edited files. All these pictures are backed up in multiple locations.
The final edited pictures are delivered using Pic-time, a popular photo gallery system which is secure and private.
Your gallery can be password protected and downloads can be limited to you and the guests that you choose. Your Pic-time gallery will be available for 12 months after the wedding day.
Yes! I still think that there is something special about a printed photo even in the digital age!
Your private online gallery includes a shop where you and your guests can order prints, frames, and other items.
Peace of mind
I take lots of precautions to make sure that things go as planned on the day.
I always use two cameras at every wedding and both have 2 memory cards which duplicate every image that I take so if something goes wrong I always have a back up. There are also always a range of extra memory cards, batteries and lenses in my bag so I have back ups in case of failure.
It has never happened so far, but you do never know!
If I can’t make your wedding, due to illness or emergency I keep a contact list of photographers who may be able to cover. We will do everything possible to make sure that you have a great photographer for your Wedding Day.
As with cancellations, I do also recommend comprehensive wedding insurance.
Yes, I have comprehensive equipment and public liability insurance.
