Corpus Christi College and Perch Wedding Reception

Corpus Christi College and Perch Wedding Reception

Mary and Chris’ Oxford wedding combined two stunning venues and some unexpected Oxford scenery. Their ceremony at Corpus Christi College and Perch Wedding Reception combined the history and tradition of an Oxford College and a charming Oxfordshire riverside inn.

Corpus Christi College Wedding

The wedding ceremony was that the historic Corpus Christi College Chapel. One of the smaller Oxford colleges, Corpus Christi dates back to the 16th century. Corpus Christi’s Chapel is a wonderfully intimate location for a traditional wedding ceremony and has 500 years of history. After the service we moved to the college gardens for family photos and Bride and Groom portraits.

Their vintage bus transfer foiled by the notorious Oxford traffic, but Bride and Groom took it in their stride – literally! Instead of the bus, our unexpected walk from the College to the Perch Wedding Reception took us over Port Meadow and along the River Thames.

“Just to say a huge thank you for sticking with us through all the unexpected turns on Friday. We had such a lovely day, despite a few sudden changes of plan, and it was wonderful how you just adapted to it all as it carried us along.”

Perch Wedding Reception

Once they arrived at the Perch, the wedding party reunited with their guests! The Perch has an enviable riverside setting, and there has been a pub on the site for 800 years. The beautiful thatched building is in Binsey Village, just a short journey from the centre of Oxford. However, the beautiful village location on the Thames creates the feeling of a countryside inn.

The pub itself was refurbished in 2015 but retains its historic charm. The Perch is now a hugely popular venue for Wedding Receptions with a dedicated marquee in the gardens. The pub is also an ideal choice for couples who are looking for a more relaxed venue in an idyllic waterside location.

The Perch is a joy to work at for a Wedding Photographer. The relaxed atmosphere, and the charming venue is also perfect for my natural candid photography style along with beautiful riverside locations.

Mary and Chris were looking for relaxed natural wedding photos, and the Perch was an ideal place to create that for them. If you are getting married at the Perch Inn, please get in contact today I would love to hear from you!
