A Dream Wedding at Christ Church College and Isis River Farmhouse

Rachael and Andy’s stunning Christ Church College wedding combined a fairytale setting and rustic riverside charm and natural beauty. The historic Christ Church College and the picturesque Isis River Farmhouse were an enchanting contrasting combination. Both venues both have a typical Oxford style and history that fitted the occasion wonderfully.

Christ Church College Wedding

Rachael and Andy exchanged their vows in the breathtaking surroundings of the Christ Church Cathedral. The church is both the College Chapel and Oxford’s cathedral and is a masterpiece of English Gothic architecture. Following the beautiful ceremony there were drinks in the Chapter House gardens. The gardens are a perfect setting for post ceremony drinks and family photos.

Once the Bride and Groom had enjoyed some time with their family and friends, it was time to explore the college for some romantic couple photos. The college cloisters and the hall staircase, were the perfect settings for the Bride and Groom portraits. The hall staircase instantly recognisable to Harry Potter fans too as a filming location . The team at the College were wonderful, and closed off the spaces for us while we captured the perfect shots.

Isis River Farmhouse Wedding party

The party moved from the grandeur of Christ Church, to the banks of the serene River Thames. The evening party was held at the idillic riverside location of the Isis River Farmhouse. Nestled against the Thames by Iffley Lock, the pub is an Oxford institution. However, it is uniquely not accessible by road. Rachael and Andy took a short boat trip with their guests to a private mooring on the doorstep of the venue. Of course, we also took a moment to grab some more couple photos at the picturesque Iffley Lock during the evening.

Weddings at the Isis River Farmhouse are hosted in a grand marquee in the gardens. The evening included some beautiful speeches, and singing including a song from the Groom to his Bride. Later, the guests enjoyed a lively ceilidh and a big selection of cake!
